For a number of years we have had and still have a website on the internet under "Gross-Breesen" called "HOME", address: http://home.iprimus.com.au/herko.
The response from it has been mainly from people who wanted information about relatives of theirs who they thought of having been at Gross-Breesen, as well as from those who were doing research in subjects related to Gross-Breesen or Bondy.
Since that time the number of websites under the title of Gross-Breesen have multiplied to such an extent, (partly because of the other Gross-Breesen located in Brandenburg), that it has become difficult to obtain some sensible information about our Gross-Breesen which was located in Silesia.
Moreover because of the incorrect stories and the exaggerations which have been publicised about the former Emigrant Training Farm at Gross-Breesen in Silesia and the people who were living there, who have been and still do call themselves Gross-Breeseners, it has been found necessary to "air" the only correct and unadulterated version of their history, as told by their director, Prof. Dr. Curt Bondy and the trainees themselves. To the largest extent by the letters which were published in the form of "Rundbriefe", or circulars. Bondy initiated this form of keeping in touch with each other and in later years it was carried on by Ernst Cramer, now in his 97th year, whose remarkable career you can follow in these pages.
These circulars and related material were privately published in hard cover in 1999 and distributed world-wide to surviving Gross-Breeseners, their descendants and numerous Institutions of History and Holocaust Museums. In 2001 a third volume was added, principally containing the translations into English of the German letters presented in the first two volumes with the addition of material gathered in the interim period.
In 2006 a second edition was published on CD's only, with further accumulations and in an altered format.
Finally this is the enlarged 3rd edition - containing a 4th volume - which you can read, copy and even comment upon.
Happy reading!
